Virtually Meet:
Selah Corcoran
Intern in Marriage and Family Therapy; Under supervision of Sonnee D. Stanley
What I find most meaningful about this work is the opportunity to sit with people as they begin to understand themselves more deeply.
It’s incredibly powerful to witness clients make sense of their experiences, recognize patterns, and start to see themselves with more clarity and compassion. I value being able to walk alongside them as they navigate challenges, explore new perspectives, and move toward change in a way that feels authentic to who they are.
Seeing those shifts—whether subtle or significant—reminds me how impactful it can be to have a space where you feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood.
Supporting meaningful change through connection, curiosity, and collaboration.
I work with individuals, couples, and families to explore patterns, strengthen relationships, and create space for growth in a safe, supportive environment.
My therapy approach
I approach counseling with a deep respect for each person’s story and the belief that meaningful change happens within the context of safe, authentic relationships.
My work is grounded in both structural and narrative therapy, which means I pay attention to patterns, roles, and relationship dynamics while also honoring the personal stories and meanings that shape how you see yourself and your life.
As an MFT Intern, I bring curiosity, openness, and a strong commitment to learning. I focus on being fully present, listening carefully, and creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and not judged. I don’t come in assuming I have the answers—instead, I work collaboratively with you to better understand your experiences and support you in moving toward your goals.
Clients often experience me as warm, thoughtful, and engaged. I value clear communication, emotional safety, and pacing sessions in a way that feels respectful and attuned to you. When appropriate, I gently challenge patterns—with care and intention—to support growth and deeper insight.
Above all, I strive to show up as a genuine person in the room—someone who is attentive, reflective, and committed to supporting you through change, healing, and self-understanding.
My mantra reminds us that when we feel safe and supported, we can begin to gently shift the patterns and stories we carry.
Change doesn’t happen all at once—it unfolds through awareness, reflection, and the safety to explore what’s been carried for a long time.
Sometimes that process is gentle. Sometimes it asks for honesty and intention. And sometimes it means sitting with things we’ve been avoiding. You don’t have to do that alone.
My role is to walk alongside you, creating a space where you feel safe to explore your experiences, understand your patterns, and make sense of the stories that shape how you see yourself and your relationships.
I don’t come in with all the answers. Instead, we work collaboratively—moving at a pace that feels right for you while supporting both insight and meaningful change.
To me, mental health isn’t about always feeling okay or having everything figured out. It’s about building the capacity to navigate life’s challenges while staying connected to yourself, your relationships, and what matters most to you.
